Do I need to get another line installed to receive calls on my 0845/0844/0800 number?
No. We connect the 0845, 0844 or 0800 number to your existing line; callers can dial either your normal local exchange number or the new non-geographic number (NGN). Both ways you will receive the call as normal.
How much do calls cost from an 0845, 0844 or 0800 number?
This is a common question that we're asked - outgoing calls cannot be made on a non-geographic number, they only carry inbound traffic, so you will not receive a bill from Planet Numbers for making phone calls.
How much does it cost to phone an 0845 or 0844 number?
Calling an 0845 number costs 2p per minute daytime, and 0.5ppm at all other times when called from a BT landline. Other networks may vary.
There are lots of price brackets for 0844 numbers; from 1p per minute, rising in half pence increments to 5p per minute. 0844 numbers cost the same to call at all times of the day.
How many times can I redirect my number, and is there a fee to do so?
We redirect numbers between 1630 hrs and 1800 hrs Monday to Friday. You can have your number(s) redirected as often as you wish. If you request a number redirection before 1500 hrs we will fulfil this the same day, otherwise it will be the next working day between 1630 hrs and 1800 hrs. We make no charge for this service. If you require the ability to redirect your number at any time - day or night, and instantly, our 0845 and 0870 targetmaster numbers provide this enhanced service at no extra cost.
What about international callers?
Ofcom (formerly Oftel) have requested that all international carriers make 0870 numbers diallable from overseas, but it is up to the international carriers to do the work involved to make this possible; therefore we can offer no guarantees with regards to receiving calls from overseas.
Will the annual service charge go up next year?
We guarantee not to increase your annual service charge for 3 years; there after we may increase them by the index rate of inflation, however our preferred method of collecting this yearly fee is by standing order from your bank; this is a fixed amount of money that is taken on a fixed date: Unlike a Direct Debit we have no control in changing payment amounts or payment dates.
What happens if Planet Numbers goes out of business?
Would I lose the numbers I have with you?
If Planet Numbers did go out of business for any reason (which is highly unlikely!) the liquidators would be called in, and they would sell on our service contracts to another service provider. They would also take over our contact telephone numbers and email addresses. Your numbers would continue to work - you would simply pay another company for the service, but please be assured that we have NO intention that this should ever happen.
